This is the clay pipe feature in Locus 17. It is cylindrical, the furthest extent of which is currently measured at 90 cm. It is 10 cm in diameter, although the top portion is only preserved near the eastern extent. It has a slight corkscrew curvature to it. It is very soft and easily broken. The eastern end appears finished, such that it was meant to be open on that side, like a scoop. It was removed and packed in a box with soil on the bottom to cushion it and soil sample bags on top for protection.
