Remarks

This locus constitutes the paved stone floor of operation WSAD, extending from the western corner, in front of the doorway, along the SW baulk. As of 8/6/10, the stones of this floor did not extend completely to either the SE baulk, or into the northern or eastern corners of the operation where the two walls of the room meet and where Feature 16, the linear stone feature, exists. This paved stone floor appears to be beneath both the darker soil of the overburden in the southern area, and the more hard packed, mottled brown clay surface of Locus 21 in the western area in front of the door. The floor also does not appear to be sloping in any given direction, unlike the stone floor in WSAC; this is potentially due to the difference in topography for this room, with a slight slope coming from the SE instead of the NE. The paved stone floor also appears to include a reused/earlier circular stone basin/mortar along the edge of the SW wall, FEature 27.
The stone floor is roughly 3 meters long, into the center of the operation, and roughly 2 meters wide, along the SW baulk. The elevation given is for one of center stones. See notebook for sketch.
