Hard packed gravelly clay floor visible in south end of western baulk in side locus 9 stone wall. This is the lowest of 4 visible floor layers in this part of the baulk, and this one corresponds to the locus 8 floor located inside the locus 9 stone wall. Thickness of floor varies from 2-8cm thick and tends to get thicker as it gets closer to locus 9 wall, and extends all the way to the end of the wall. Illustrated in profile drawing.
