This locus constitutes a change in the overburden noticed in the NE section of the operation, below Locus 2, from the dark loam of the topsoil to a lighter, more rocky but still loose matrix with a continuation of mixed LBA/Iron III ceramics. It is roughly 2 by 3.5 meters and extends from the NW baulk and the northern corner to the partition wall, and its NE edge is therefore the old SW baulk of 2010 operation WSAC. Depth given is center, see notebook for sketch and other excavations. Opened and closed 2/7/11 because the more clay-y yellowish/brown matrix was starting to appear in the area of the wall.
