Small area opened up on the top of the partition wall SW of the doorway between WSAC and WSAD to ascertain the nature of the SW face of the doorway, which last year was confusing, with two large rocks floating on soil. The matrix is the dark, loamy overburden, beneath Locus 3. A lot of ceramics and bones from this locus, a mortar and a ceramic disk. The excavation did not seem to answer the questions about the door; rubble fill appeared and a gap between the NE baulk and the next large stone; one of the large rocks dislodged and fell into WSAD, revealing a rock underneath. See notebook for sketch and elevations; given is center.
