Remarks

Represents area inside the one-course rounded-rectangular stone formation, just below topsoil.

Soil color ranges from a small layer of dark topsoil, to the light grey layer below. This second layer extends from the lower three-quarters of the one-course rounded-rectangular stone formation to its bottom. Thus, this layer is probably concurrent with when the curvilinear stone formation was constructed. About ten flat white sandstone (?) rocks were found beneath some of the basalt boulders, on either side of the trench. They do not appear to be worked, but are present only directly under the one-course curvilinear stone formation.

Two small polishing stones (?) were found here, as was a burrowing mammal tunnel and den with weathered plant material nest.

A worked obsidian tool was found. One diagonal side is knapped, providing a rough, curved edge.

The skull of a member of the weasel family was found as well. It is likely Mustela nivalis, the Least Weasel. Skull is in perfect condition, and may be modern, as weasels use burrows built and later vacated by other animals. However, it seems their current range does not include Armenia or the South Caucasus.
