We dug this locus after it became apparent that locus 46 had not exposed the bottom of the SW wall at its SE end. 49 quickly found the bottom of this wall, and the matrix was sterile bedrock clay. There were no materials. Note that the bedrock clay was much lower along the SW wall than it was against the NE wall.
