The so-called trough feature, although in this room as with so many others it is very unlikely that that label is accurate. The function is unclear, and I'll treat this matter more fully in the trench report.
We didn't dig this feature as much as we might have because of the difficulty involved in excavating such a narrow space, and because much of the soil was backfill from WSM.
