Remarks

This is the short wall that sits beneath and just beside the northwest wall of room N. It was exposed in the course of excavating locus 65. Two courses of the wall are visible, each composed of small stones. In all likelihood, this is an earlier phase of occupation compared to that of the main walls of the room, though will have to wait and see the results of C14. The wall may continue down to a greater depth seeing as in front of it, locus 65, we haven't yet reached the sterile clay. This is an extremely interesting and unusual situation for Precinct A and demands that we re-open this sector of the room.
