Locus 6 is located below the northernmost area of locus 2. The soil is coarser-grained than the layer above, and orange-brown. It has a more clay-like consistency.
Note: Locus 6 has just begun to be excavated. Future excavators should be aware that the region south of locus 6 but still between the two walls represent locus 2 still. There is also a 0.5 x 2.5 m roughly 0.25 m in height of unexcavated locus 2, surrounded by the bulk of locus 6 to the north and a small slice to the south, before locus 2 begins again at a shovel height higher. This is a small dam that we constructed to prevent escape of rainwater that had pooled in the bulk of locus 6. That said, subsequent excavations here will be digging through both the top of locus 6, and the bottom of locus 2.
