Today we opened the trench. In the morning, we laid it out with stakes and string, then began to remove the sod from the border. Once the border was finished, we removed the string and stakes and began to work into the center of the trench. I (KW) mapped the locus, including some stones which were visible only after the sod had been removed from the border. We had three finds bags: ceramic, lithic, and bone.
We appear to have emerging walls on the NW, SE, and SW sides of the trench. There appears a possible doorway in the NW wall, entering into WSDB.

Today we completed the removal of topsoil. We removed several mid-sized stones from the center of the trench, when no stones were discovered to be in contact with them. We also removed three very large stones, likely fallen wall stones, from the center.
The SW wall is reasonably well-defined, but has one possible break in the W half of the wall. The SE wall is perfectly defined, including the bordering line of rocks (on the other side of the wall). In other words, both N and S sides of the wall are clear.
