7/1/13 The locus, whose matrix is a medium brown silt, covers the northern corner of the operation and was initially opened with the expectation that it was part of the interior of the room. However, quickly it became clear that the locus was extremely rocky, and given the uncertainty surrounding the northeastern alignment of stones, I decided to suspend excavation of the locus (am concerned that the rocks may be part of a wall or feature that cannot become clear unless the operation is expanded to the northeast).
