Locus 13 is adjacent to Locus 12. It is bordered the SE wall, balk and NE wall. In this locus, I wanted to even out a soil change to all medium brown and eliminate all dark soil. I troweled out the locus before digging with a shovel and found much of the locus to be dark brown soil pretty deep. I bisected the trench with this locus arbitrarily to manage archaeological data. The soil is still dark toward the center of the room and medium brown toward the center of the walls. Another locus is necessary to find a complete soil change and manage archaeological materials rather than using this locus to find the complete soil change. No small finds, no charcoal samples, and no soil samples in this locus. In this locus, however, I am more convinced that the very large boulders along the NW edge of this locus are floaters. I think the large boulder may have come down as fall from the citadel area and caused a lot of damaging, as in the “hole” in my NE wall.
