This is the topsoil and wash locus for the 4th extension of WSDB, to 10 m. It is very deep in places, possibly partly because the vast quantity of fallen boulders (possibly as many as ten) in the locus disrupted the normal sequencing of soil deposits. In any case, the soil was dark, loamy, and rich, with a considerable amount of ceramics, and some bone and obsidian.
We did not dig the very western section of the locus, just marked its boundary, outside the wall (Locus 29).
