This locus was opened to find the floor around the rectangular stone feature to the left of the hearth found in locus 6. There is precedent for the rectangular feature found in this locus. I also opened this locus to level with the flagstone floor found in locus 8. This locus is bordered by the NE wall, locus 7, locus 6, and locus 8.The soil in this locus is medium brown. Not as light as either bordering locus at the bottom of the first pass. 1 small find, a mortar, found in this locus. I also took 1 MB sample from under a pot sherd. NOt a very big MB sample.
