Fragment from a small LM jar, it is r/s here, and the most inferior portion of the sherd appears to host clipped portions of a circumferential nail shaped decorative register. The lip appears to feature a significant circumferential abrasion pattern, suggesting lidding. Three potential nail shaped ornament portions are visible, but not enough to describe in detail or measure. Circumferential rotational striations are somewhat visible on both surfaces. However, limited white dendritic corrosion on the external surface and more significant amounts on the internal surface make this difficult to confirm. Surface descriptions will remain provisional here until acidic cleaning is completed. Core colors are highly mottled, suggesting inconsistent firing or use as cooking vessel. In addition to the medium sand, significant frequencies of coarse and very coarse sand inclusions are visible in the fabric. Breaks are rough.
