This locus marks the sod of an extension of the operation to the south. I created it for two reasons: first, it was getting crowded in the operation with little room for 5 workers and 2 supervisors to work (especially since we are now largely doing trowel work). In addition, I wanted to identify the south wall of the presumed room we are excavating. The sod yielded extremely few materials, as is to be expected. Top elevation at center was 68cm b.d. 1.
