Remarks

This large obsidian flake has been worked into a symmetrical, ovate form scraper. There is clear evidence of retouch along the perimeter and there also appears to be beveling along the exterior surface on the left side. On the interior surface there is clear evidence of fracturing. The top of the flake (medial to the bulb of percussion) possess a sharp tip. This tool resembles those found at sites such as Hatis and Horom. Based on the form we suspect it was created during the Epipaleolithic; however, this technology has also been found in later contexts.
