This locus was characterized by a light brown/ tan matrix that was very compact and homogenous with respect to clast size and composition. The moisture and compaction gave it a clay-like appearance. It did not contain any cultural material, but did have a possible underlying surface. After 10cm of sterile deposit we opted to close the unit.
