This context directly underlying the unit's topsoil was characterized by a lightish brown matrix. It was relatively homogenous and contained few to no cultural inclusions (2 pieces of pottery). Unlike the previous westernmost units, this matrix was not claylike. It was fairly loose and well-sorted without any rocks. The clasts were fine and there was some root activity. After 80cm of sterile sediment we closed operations in this unit.
