Just 10cm or so into locus 2, the soil became a much more comapct clay, including a mottled brown surface 1cm thick and a yellow clay substrate 8-10cm thick. This appears to be a floor and it was laid atop an underlying natural rock. The rock shows some evidence of being slightly carved. But certainly was overlaid with clay and a floor. Once we excavated the floor and the substrate clay, we closed this operation. Elevations above are from the SW corner. Additional elevations are:
