Remarks

This locus refers to the curvilinear (semi-circular wall) east of locus 7 that runs from the SW corner of the unit (near locus 3) to the NW corner where it appears to join with locus 36. While we initially believed that locus 7 was the enclosed space, it later became clear that locus 29 was more likely enclosed. This wall appears to run parallel to locus 10 to the east. Despite this relationship the composition of the walls differs slightly. Locus 9 is only one stone wide. The wall has as many as three courses in some areas and two in others. The associated floors in loci 7 and 29,23, and 32 appear to be sitting approximately 5-10cm below the stones. They are resting on a compact clay foundation, which is demonstrative of a comparable building style in the EB settlement atop the hill. This foundation unsurprisingly seems to be built almost directly on top of bedrock. The comprising stones of this wall range from 10-30cm in size.
