This ceramic disk is emblematic of Kura-Araxes pottery. It is made from red and black burnished ware. While the morphology of the object is not that of a perfectly rounded circle, it has been noticeably worked into a semi-round form. The edges are jagged -- especially in contrast to other disks uncovered in the unit. The disk does appear to be visibly worn. The fabric is fairly coarse, and it is easy to view the different components (i.e. layers) of the slip on the pottery.
