Elevations taken from datum 15; below datum. Locus 17 refers to the clay surface/ deposit abutting the western face of wall 15 in the center. It a compact clay feature that is fairly rectangular in shape and differs considerably from the surrounding sandlike matrix of locus 14 and the rocky matrix 13. Based on its initial exposure the function of the feature remains unclear. It could be the foundation for a surface, a created surface or some sort of architectural feature (i.e. platform). Additional metrics: width .5 m and .9 on the respective northern and southern points.
