Remarks

Locus 24 refers to the wall west of wall (locus) 15 in the northeast quadrant of the T38. This wall appears to be connected with locus 22 (the burial architecture). The size of the wall is somewhat comparable to a MB dromos wall. It runs south-north and seems to create an entranceway to the door stone(s) of the burial. That it comprises a related feature to locus 22 seems undeniable. Given the estimated period of the burial and lack of a parallel wall on the western side of the tomb the dromos explanation seems unlikely. It is not clear what structural function this wall serves -- especially given the presence of locus 15 (only 5 or so cm east). It is, however, worth noting that locus 31 (the join) is associated with this (rather than locus 15) eastern wall and locus (wall) 9. With respect to architectural construction, this context is two stones wide and consists of three well built courses.
