Remarks

Locus 33 refers to the possible join between walls (loci) 9 and 10 in between contexts 28 and 32. In contrast to locus 31, the join between walls 9 and 24, the status of this wall is far more dubious. The stones that comprised this feature were not homogenous in size and their orientation was not explicitly clear. We removed stones to the north and south under the assumption that they were collapse; however, it is important to note that we only had more than one "course" of stones in the eastern part of the context. Moreover, there was not a clearcut and complete line of stones bridging the area. While It would be spatially interesting to consider why -- for what purpose -- there would be a division between the area containing the hearth and burial (locus) 3, I did not find significant enough contrasts in the composition of the soil and type of finds to believe that this feature was conclusively real. Moreover, the presence of pottery in the "gaps" and under some of the comprising stones of the wall further calls the integrity of this context into question. Nevertheless, it is worth noting as it is a feature that could have real consequences.
