Place: Ar/Ge.T38.41

Refers to the hearth situated in the northeast corner of locus 32. The hearth is located about 12 cm west of locus10 and 30cm from locus33. It is characterized by a depression in the floor and a hard, compact fine-grained clay-like material. It is dark in color -- almost black in some areas -- likely from burning events. It appears to have been cut into bedrock (below the floor). There are patchy areas that are orange in color, which is likely the product of burnt clay. Of interest we found a wood beam as well as andiron fragments in this area.
