Locus 2 begins where the topsoil ended and descends another 10cm. The soil changes ever so slightly to a slightly lighter color, although it continues to be be soft and dark brown. Now there are some scattered stones throughout the soil. Mostly these scattered stones are small bits of tuf or basalt. This layer yielded only two small pieces of obsidian. By the end of Locus 2 there was again no noticeable soil change. However the next 10 cm layer removed will be called Locus 3.
