Designated MAE1731--radiographed, XRF
A small fragment from a medium sizable LB pot or jarfragment from a medium sized LB jar. The most superior portion of the sherd likely bgins just below the neck. The decorative schema consists of a single incised circumferential line ornament (0.25 cm wide) placed on the upper shoulder and wavy roulette-impressed line on the mid-shoulder. The roulette shape is 3-punctates wide (0.725 cm total). This suggests an LB1 affiliation. The exterior appears to have likely been polished at some point, but the majority of any such decoration is now abraded off, making it difficult to say for sure. The spaces between each line feature a line of missing circumferential polish/slip. Fine circumferential rotational striations are visible on the exterior surface. The exterior is slightly mottled, inconsistent in color, while the interior is much more homogeneous. In addition to the fine sand, significant frequencies of medium sand are visible in the fabric. The external features a few visible pyrite particles, with moderately higher frequencies observable on the interior surface. Breaks are rough.
