Designated MAE1742--radiographed, XRF
Fragment from a medium sized LB pot, it is r/s here, but almost extending to the body. The rim is more folded than rolled, very obvious in the profile/wall. There are no visible ornaments, but the surface is polished with very wide burnish marks, starting at the most superior shoulder, that could just as easily be circumferential polish ornaments. Dense circumferential rotational striations are visible all surfaces. The left half of the exterior surface is actually Brown 7.5YR 5/3. The exterior surface features limited amounts of light gray dendritic concretion, while the interior is 80% covered with the same. In addition to the medium sand, significant frequencies of coarse and fine sand are visible in the fabric. Both surfaces feature limited, but large mica/pyrite pops, particularly on the interior rim. Breaks are rough.
