Designated MAE218--radiographed, XRF, SAXS. A sizable fragment from a LB vessel body/base. The decorative schema consists of a single line of circumferential oblique hatches just superior to the body/base transition. The hatches average 1.6 cm in length and 0.3 cm in width. They overlap one another approximately 40% and separated by 0.35 cm on average. The hatches are filled with small ridges, suggesting they were applied with cord. Dense circumferential rotational striations are visible on all surfaces, but are particularly visible on the exterior. The exterior is 20% mottled with Grayish Brown 10YR 5/2. In addition to the fine sand, significant amounts of medium and coarse sand are visible in the fabric and moderately perforate all surfaces. Occasional pebbles and burned out vegetal voids are also visible in the fabric. High frequencies of pyrite pops are visible on the interior. Breaks are rough.
