Designated MAE191--radiographed, XRF, SAXS. An LM vessel shoulder fragment. The decorative schema consists of a single circumferential incised line or furrow (0.375 cm wide). There are two other possible decorations, too little of which is visible to conclusively identify: (1) numerous horizontal streaks of polish on the left side of the sherd and (2) a single impressed line approximately 0.5cm inferior to the linear decoration. A single teardrop shaped impression is visible on the lower portion of the interior, left side. The impression measures 2 cm in length, superior to inferior. It is 0.38 cm at its widest. Dense circumferential rotational striations are visible on both surfaces, some deeper than others. In addition to the fine sand, significant amounts of medium and coarse sand are visible in the fabric. Significant amounts of inclusions also perforate all surfaces, including moderate frequencies of pyrite pops. Breaks are rough.
