Designated MAE193--radiographed, XRF, SAXS. A fragment from a medium sized LM jar. The decorative schema consists of a single applied cord decoration, not enough of which is preserved to provide measurements of the segments, period, etc. Dense circumferential rotational striations are visible on the interior surface, while moderate amounts of circumferential rotational striations are visible on the inferior shoulder and body. The external and internal body are severely crazed and cracked, likely due to destruction fire. The exterior is 10% mottled with Very Dark Gray GY1 3/N and the interior is 50% colored Dark Gray GY1 4/N (superior half). Band 2 should be Light Gray GY1 7/N. The exterior surface is 30% covered and interior 50% covered in light gray dendritic corrosion. In addition to the fine sand, significant amounts of coarse sand inclusions are visible in the fabric. Limited frequencies of sand perforations and pyrite pops are visible in both surfaces. Breaks are hackley.
