Possible hearth feature consisting of two parallel vertical stones, and located against south face of locus 22 wall. There was no burning evident, so it's also possible that this represents a feature for supporting structural beams. Another possibility is this space was used for grinding grain, so I took a pollen sample 7/31/03. Two other similar features are visible along the same wall almost symmetrically spaced, which may support the idea it was used to hold vertical beams as part of the superstructure. I assigned it a Stratum since it is on a floor deemed to be LBA.
