Designated MAE178--radiographed, XRF, SAXS. Fragment from a small LM jar. The decorative schema consists of a single circumferential row of oblique hatch marks running from upper left to lower right. They may be placed inside of an impressed circumferential line or belt, but the sherd preserved too little of the decoration to say. Most of the exterior polish is limited to the body portion. Dense circumferential rotational striations are visible both surfaces, particularly on the interior though, where the large lines approach the size of "rilling marks." The exterior is 40% mottled with Brown 7.5YR 5/3. The band two color should be Dark Reddish Gray 2.5YR 3/1, not 4/1. In addition to the very fine sand, significant amounts of medium and coarse sand are visible in the fabric. Both surfaces are moderately covered in pyrite pops and perforated with inclusions. Breaks are rough.
