Designated MAE182--radiographed, XRF, SAXS. A sizable b/b fragment from an LB vessel. The decorative schema consists of a single circumferential line of oblique hatches at the base/body transition. The hatches average 1.2 cm in length and are filled with horizontal striations, suggesting that they are formed with a tool rather than a figure Dense circumferential rotational striations are visible on both surfaces, but are particularly prominent and deeply impressed on the interior. While they cross the interior b/b transition, there appears to also be some extra smoothing and pressing at the b/b transition. The exterior base is mottled with 50% Black GY1 2.5/N, perhaps from burning. In addition to the fine sand, significant amounts of coarse sand are visible in the fabric. Bother surfaces features limited amounts of pyrite pops and perforating inclusions. Breaks are rough.
