This level appeared below the wash level in the northern third of the trench. It is marked by a more packed, orange colored soil, and it is mixed up with a gravel that seems to result from decomposed rock, maybe granite. Eventually, this same surface appeared also beneath locus 2 in the northern side of the trench, so l merged locus 3 into locus 4. Bags were merged into 4. Elevations indicated are north corner.
