Ts BC 49 is located 1.30km east (bearing 92°) of Tsaghkahovit fortress in an area adjacent to the ruined buildings of a Soviet era construction (map quad C4d).
This ruined cluster of cromlechs was built on the lowest reaches of Mt. Aragats, where the final slope merges with the flatland of the Tsaghkahovit plain.
Although most of the burials in this cluster appear to have been destroyed by extensive earth moving (likely associated either with the construction of the adjacent building or with the Soviet land amelioration program), one cromlech remains intact (feature 1) surrounded by the shaped blocks of destroyed cromlechs.
No surface materials.
Feature 1 (plate Xd): is a large stepped cromlech constructed of 3 concentric rings of medium-sized basalt blocks. The burial is 5.9m in diameter east-west and 5.7m north-south. Each step rises an average of 0.15cm above the surrounding ground surface. The interior of the tomb is marked by three capstones that cover an area roughly 2.5m square.
