Association

1.37km southeast (bearing 137°) of Hnaberd fortress, this cluster, along with Hn BC 01, 22, and 23, marks the eastern limit of Hnaberd survey quadrant burials, bounded to the east by a primary watercourse draining the slopes of Mt. Aragats (map quad B3e).

Topography

Hn BC 25 lies on the northeastern slope of a low eroding outcrop. There is some difficulty in defining cromlechs in the area due to piles of stone created by clearance of the adjacent agricultural fields.

General Description

Cromlechs appear to cover the entirety of this broad slope, an area approximately 300m east-west and 75m north-south (and may well have stretched into the adjacent areas now under cultivation). However, a large number of field piles, boulders, and other debris make it quite difficult to define the edges of the cluster. The burials are exclusively standard cromlechs, ranging from 3 to 6m in diameter. All are constructed, as usual, of medium-sized unworked basalt blocks set in a circle around 1-3 basalt boulders that serve as capstones.
