Gegharot Burial Cluster 16 lies within the territory of the village of Gegharot, on the north side of the modern road and adjacent to the source of the paleo-Kasakh river. It was discovered not by survey but by a salvage excavation occasioned by the erosion of a scarp in one of the villager's back yard. Erosion revealed the exterior of a large stone chamber. Project ArAGATS undertook the salvage excavations as operation GeBC16.
The landscape is gently sloped but highly eroded due to both modern settlement and continued drainage from the Pambakh slopes.
The single tomb known at present in this Burial Cluster was not visible from the surface. It does not appear to have had a surrounding cromlech but the chamber was constructed of large stone slabs.
