Opened trench 12 at the bottom of the Northeast slope of Aparani Berd. The goal was to understand if there are settlements off of the central fortress. Choose a wide terrace slope that did not appear to be field clearance for a 1x1. Unfortunately, this trench was packed with a hard clay and beyond the wash / top soil layer there were not any artifacts. Ruben also visited the site, and suggested to go to bedrock on trench 12b.
