Place: Ar/Ge.T16.114

This is the westernmost area of T16, from the W edge of the trench to the baulk 4.6 meters in. (Note: the top of the baulk is at 4.6 but has been cut at something of an angle, so the bottom is smaller.) It does not include the area south of the east-west EB wall near the south baulk. It is a very deep locus, with mostly sterile soil, and no changes in soil matrix until just above the north-south EB wall discovered in July. At that point, the material density rose slightly for three days but then subsided into low material density again. The soil overall is gravelly and light brown; on the east side of the north-south EB wall, the soil is still gravelly but a lighter brown and with very low material density.
