Remarks

This ceramic disk is complete albeit fractured into two pieces. This break was clearly post-depositional, however, the object was recovered with the two pieces situated in immediate proximity to one another. The fit is so clear that it is conceivable (although difficult to discern based on the break alone) that this was a modern break. The disk exhibits radical symmetry. It was worked into a near perfect circular shape and is comparably smooth on both sides. This disk is considerably thinner than the others we have encountered, but similarly appears to be a re-purposed ceramic sherd. The firing appears even and the clay seems fairly homogenous with respect to the fine-grained sediment and lack of visible tempering. It is also the same in color with respect to its sides.
