Place: Ar/Ge.T38.20

Locus 20 is located directly north of the northern curve of wall (locus) 9. It is characterized by a high concentration of small, angular stones (between 5 and 15cm). The soil matrix is medium brown and poorly sorted in contrast to that of neighboring loci. It contains some granular clasts, small stones, and a high concentration of cultural materials. In particular, the context has a very dense amount of fauna. It was in this locus that we uncovered a complete large (possibly pig or cow) mandible, as well as many other well-preserved animal elements. The pottery in this locus was nothing remarkable and appears -- like the rest of the trench -- to be predominately diagnostic EB. [Elev taken from datum 15.1]
