This andiron fragment, like Ar/Ge.T44.13.CO.01, is from the end of an andiron. It is made from a ceramic paste that contains some clear chaff or sand inclusions. It is clearly part of one end. While the object is predominately reddish brown in color, there is some black coloring -- the likely result of contact with heat.
