12.09.12. This pithos sherd or sherd of a large storage jar includes the rim and part of the shoulder or neck (hard to say which). The rim can accommodate a lid. The rim itself is upward and pointed in form, but it is off set from the top of the shoulder due to a flat ledge for the lid (this is why I described it as 3-part). The indicated rim thickness is for the entire rim, including the ledge for the lid.
