This 4x4m operation was undertaken as a result of our 2016 GPR data and 2017 magnetometry survey. The unit is southwest of T38 and west of T39, situated at the western edge of the hill in close proximity to the modern village. We hoped that the anomalies detected in this analysis would reveal more about early bronze age settlement on the slope. The depths and configuration of the anomalies appeared to be consistent with our prior architectural findings. Unfortunately, the anomalies were geological and not cultural in nature. After digging almost two meters we concluded the operation without reaching bedrock. In the unlikely situation that we have time at the end of the season, it would be interesting (for science) to reach bedrock in this unit.
