Remarks

Locus 15 refers to the 2m (east-west) by 1.55m (north-south) test probe in the southwest corner of T44. We (Ruben) decided to excavate this extension of the unit in order to see if the east-west wall (W02 or locus 06) continued further west. We were ultimately hoping to find a corner in this operation, but sadly we found neither an extension nor a corner. There were some large stones visible on the surface, but these were in fact floating. The fill of this probe was nearly sterile -- devoid of cultural materials. Now we have to figure out, for aesthetic purposes, if we should either extend the unit 2m west or fill the probe back in. While neither solution is optimal, this trench should only look so much like a tetris piece!
