Place: Ar/Ts.WSL.05

This locus was first the entire trench, when I thought the clay and plaster extended across the entire trench. The carbon samples were collected at this time, in areas that later became locus 9 and 6. Locus 5 later became the depression - possibly a large pit - that dips below the clay and plaster floor of locus 6. Clearly correlated with the floor. Very irregular dimensions. High material quantities and specks of carbon. Carbon also found on some sherds, which were collected separately. The matrix of this locus (a clayish medium brown silt) is the same as locus 7 but since the locus 5 bags may be slightly corrupted with materials from elsewhere in the trench, I created locus 7 as a control. Locus 5 (when it became the depression) and 7 are the same. Several stones found at the bottom of the locus. Probably not a floor since they are not very flat and are too far apart.
