The topsoil matrix from the westernmost 2.5 meters of AB4. Matrix consists of dark yellowish brown silty loam with extensive cobble distributions. Material frequencies are high, with more LB than EB pottery. A line of potential wall stones runs northeast to southwest (curvilinear) on the eastern side of the locus. The western edge is particularly rocky, and may come down eventually on bedrock outcrop. At its eastern edge the locus appears to contain the westernmost stones of the cist burial.
